"Almost 38 years after our violent exodus, we are intensifying our action to return to our roots and pass on the baton of our struggle to the younger generations. 9 years after the opening of the tourist roadblocks and 1 year since the founding of the Independent Citizens' Movement "Famagusta-Return", we join our voices to demand the obvious.
The event, "Passport Tourism Is Not a Solution", will be held in front of the Strovilia roadblock on April 22, 2012 starting at 10:00 am. The initial meeting place will be the church of Agios Nikolaos, before the roadblock, and will follow a short course (300 meters). There will be a Trisagio at the roadblock and a silent sit-in will follow.
We call on all the citizens of the occupied Municipalities of Famagusta, Kyrenia, Lysis, Morphou, Lefkonikos, Lapithos, Kithrea, Karava, Akanthou, as well as all the occupied communities and unions, as well as all those who believe in the return of our occupied territories, but also end of the current tourist solution of the Cyprus problem, as they give their present. This will be the continuation of the active effort of citizens for the Return of Famagusta and our occupied territories to its legal inhabitants.
