Montreal: At least six people have been killed in an armed attack on a Quebec mosque, with police arresting two suspects - and there are currently no indications of other perpetrators. The attack, which took place during evening prayers, injured eight other people.

The attack was condemned by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trinto, calling it a "terrorist attack on Muslims."

Police have announced the arrest of two people for the incident, without yet having information about their background. The police, like the prime minister, described the attack as "terrorist".

So far, as a police spokesman said in a statement, "there are no indications that there were other perpetrators."

The attack took place on Sunday night, when 40 people were in the mosque.

The Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trindade, condemned the terrorist - as he called it - attack on Muslims. "Diversity is our strength," Trinto said in a statement.
