According to the Police, it is good:

• Controlled beaches with lifeguards should be preferred, especially when there are small children.

• Even if someone is a swimmer, always be accompanied by another person when going for a swim.

• Stay in the bathtub areas as defined by the red buoys along the beach.

• Avoid using designated boat channels perpendicular to the beaches.

• Also avoid swimming after eating or drinking alcohol. You should never enter the sea unless at least 3 hours have passed since the meal.

• Be especially careful when diving and avoid diving with the head, as there is a risk of serious injury.

• Those who are involved in scuba diving should always use the recognized diving buoy or red or orange surface buoy (other colors are not perceived at sea from a distance). Also, the length of the buoy rope should always be vertical above the diver, towards the surface.

• Those involved in the sport of windsurfing should always keep in mind that there is a possibility that the waves will drag them away from the beaches or overturn their windsurfing.

• When you have children with you, never leave them unattended. In the case of children under 5 years of age, close and continuous monitoring is required and entry to the sea or pool should only be allowed with an adult escort. It is also necessary for children to bring a life jacket.

• Know that it does not take long, just a few minutes for the bad to happen.

It is noted, finally, that the Port and Maritime Police conducts continuous patrols on the coasts and is ready to provide all possible assistance to anyone in need. In case of any problem you can contact 112 or 199.
