Cyprus-Israel agreement on health cooperation

Cyprus and Israel signed a cooperation agreement in the field of health on Monday, thus renewing the cooperation plan of the two countries for the period 2016 - 2021, on issues related to the national health programs of the two countries, the review and improvement of health systems, epidemiology , prevention of infectious diseases, food safety and environmental hygiene issues.

According to an official statement, the agreement signed by Health Minister George Pamporidis and his Israeli counterpart Jakov Litsman in Jerusalem allows for a deepening of cooperation between the two countries.

"Aspects of cooperation will be achieved through the exchange of visits at the level of technocrats, the joint organization and attendance of conferences and training programs and the exchange of expertise in various specialties in the clinical field," it said.

It also covers cooperation on sending patients abroad for treatment and transplants.

According to the announcement, Mr. Pamporidis is visiting Israel, accepting an official invitation from the Israeli Minister of Health.

During the visit, visits to hospitals and medical centers have been scheduled, and in addition, there will be a series of meetings with officials of the State Health Service of Israel, with the aim of further expanding cooperation between the two countries.
