The two wanted suspects in the case of the murder of British citizen George Lowe were arrested in Kyrenia by the "police" of the pseudo-state, according to Turkish Cypriot media.
They are Mehmet Akpinar, 22, and Sali Ahmet, 43.
According to Turkish Cypriot media, the two suspects are expected to be taken to court tomorrow.
Recall that the murder was committed in Ayia Napa, in the early hours of last Sunday.
The murder seems to have been preceded by a quarrel between the British and the two Turkish Cypriots.
The perpetrators left the area to return a little later with knives where they attacked the victim and his friend and peer on Grigori Afxentiou Street, near Ayia Napa Square.
However, in statements made today, the co-chair of the bicommunal Technical Committee for Crime, Hakki Onen Gjelal, stated that the two suspects are not Turkish Cypriots.
He told Yeni Duzen that one of the suspects was of Bulgarian origin and the other of Turkish or Arab origin, adding that "police" were continuing to investigate the case.
Speaking to the same newspaper, "Undersecretary of State" Gürdal Hüntaoλουlu also said that the two wanted persons were not Turkish, but one was Turkish-Bulgarian and the other Kurdish or Arab, adding that he had not been sent by "e / "administration" any document on the matter, nor was any information received that these individuals escaped to the occupied territories.
Mr. Hyountaglou also stated that if the "Greek Cypriot administration" - as he called the KD government - suspected that these people had fled to the "north", then he would send a relevant notification to the Turkish Cypriot side. Nevertheless, he added, the "police" have taken the necessary measures.
