The Larnaca Search and Rescue Coordination Center (KSED) of Larnaca rescued a 24-year-old man from Germany who was vacationing in Cyprus from the sea area of ​​Cape Greco on Thursday night after an emergency call through the Port and Maritime Police.

According to an announcement by the Ministry of Defense, the KSED "immediately sent a boat of the Port and Maritime Police of Paralimni Station to locate and rescue the endangered person".

At the same time, it is added, "a patrol of the Ayia Napa Police Station was activated, and a helicopter of the Police Air Operations Squadron was put on standby immediately".

"At 19:55, the patrol of the Ayia Napa Police Station located and rescued a 24-year-old German citizen, who was in danger in the sea area of ​​Cape Greco, which is characterized as a particularly dangerous area," it added.

The young man was transferred for precautionary reasons to the Accident and Emergency Department of the Famagusta General Hospital, the announcement of the Ministry of Defense concludes. The tourist received first aid and the police took him to the hotel where he is staying in Ayia Napa.
