Incredible Swedish survival

A Swede was found alive in a car, which was buried in the snow, having apparently survived for two months in sub-zero temperatures.

The man, who was trapped inside the car on December 19, according to the Vasterbotten Courier, survived thanks to a sleeping bag in the vehicle.

He was spotted on a road in a remote wooded area near Umea when he was alerted by snowmobiles.

Temperatures in the north of the country have been hovering at minus 30 in recent weeks. Police said the survivor's account was convincing as there was indeed nothing around the car.

The man is being treated in Umea and his health is described as "good, given the conditions".
