A meeting on tourism is organized by the CTO in Ayia Napa

The excellent co-operation between the Tourism Safety Platform and the British High Commission on the island will be emphasized during a meeting organized by the CTO in Ayia Napa on Thursday, according to a statement from the UNHCR.

According to the announcement, local authorities, police, hoteliers, travel agents and other agencies in the tourism sector will have the opportunity to discuss this year's achievements and what needs to be done in 2017.

The announcement notes that this year there was a record in the arrivals of British tourists in Cyprus, something that is expected to continue next year. Also, bookings from Britain for the winter season 2016-2017 are significantly increased, he added.

It is also reported that the Tourism Safety Platform in cooperation with the British High Commission has been working to enhance the safety of tourists of all nationalities visiting Cyprus, since March 2015.
