The signatures for the new municipal stadium Sotiras fell

The contracts for the renovation of the municipal stadium Sotiras were signed by the Mayor of Sotiras, Mr. Georgios Takkas and by the contractor - winner of the public tender.

This is a project of complete renovation of the Municipal Stadium Sotira, a project which is part of the announcements of the President of the Republic of Cyprus in July 2015 for development projects in the province of Famagusta.

The first phase of the project is expected to start in September and will cost € 872 thousand, while the second phase will cost € 230 thousand and includes the lighting of the stadium.

The project involves the construction of new stands that will include a gym, locker rooms, whirlpool room, sauna, doctor's office, police and arbitration office, first aid room and more, as well as the construction of newsrooms and official rooms.

In his statements, Mayor Sotiras stated that Sotira is finally proceeding with the renovation of the municipal stadium, a project that will be a jewel for sports in the province of Famagusta. The project, as he mentioned, is considered necessary, since the stands need to be demolished and new ones built, mainly for security reasons. At the same time, the new Municipal Stadium, he said, will serve the needs of the football teams of Sotira, Onisilos and AEK Sotira, as well as the children's teams and academies.

The contracts were signed on behalf of the Municipality of Sotiras, by the Mayor, Mr. Georgios Takkas, and the Municipal Councilors Vrachimis Vrachimis and Martis Martis, while the Municipal Councilor, Mr. Michalis Kkallis was also present in the process of signing the contracts.
