His announcement is as follows:

Weighing all the political data and the prevailing conditions in the country and considering the responsibilities that belong to me in the face of the critical circumstances for tomorrow, I decided not to run as an MP candidate in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

Instead of giving priority to my participation in the House of Representatives that will result from the forthcoming parliamentary elections, I have chosen to continue with greater personal independence the struggle for the substance that I believe our political life and public debate should have for its future. of our homeland.

I could neither appear claiming the trust of our voters, silencing the differences that separate me from the choices and practices of the current party leadership, nor exercising an internal party criticism that will reproduce the party's introversion, will worsen its position, will discourage its followers and accelerate its downsizing, marginalization and devaluation.

This is a difficult decision. I believe, however, that she is honest, sincere and dignified. I acted, as always, according to the dictates of my conscience alone.

I remain an active member of the civil society from which I come, wanting to maintain with it an honest and clear relationship of open dialogue and collective action for the future of our country.

I honor and respect all the friends and competitors who honored me with their vote, love and trust in our long-standing presence at DIKO. I want to assure them that our common path does not end here. I will be present as an ordinary soldier in DIKO in all the struggles that are ahead of us, which will be very many, immovably serving our principles and values, as I fought all my life, for national justice, economic development, social justice and purification of public life.

Now is the time for moderation, assertive realism, national reconciliation, real unity for a better tomorrow for our country and society.
