Book lovers find almost every book appealing. However, due to limited time or resources it is impossible to read all the interesting books…

Here is a list of five books you should read, giving a brief description of each:

1. The Wolf of the Steppe by Hermann Esse.
It is a timeless literary masterpiece that deservedly won the Nobel Prize for Literature. The German Hermann Esser manages with an amazing mastery to combine literary writing with psychotherapy, under the roof of the existential "current".

2. A Trip to the Edge of the Night by Louis Ferdinand Celine.
Perhaps the most important literary work of the 20th century. You must read this if you want to claim that you are touched by the yeast of literature. The particular - cynical way of writing of the author deconstructs what revolves around him.

3. The nausea of Jean Paul Sartre.
One of the top books of the last century. You have the impression that it was written a month ago, as it is extremely timeless. It is worth reading it more than once, in order to understand it to a greater extent.

4. Crime and punishment of Fyodor Dostoevsky.
One of the most important representatives of Russian literature. The author uses his writing to project his existential concerns in a gloomy society. Starting with a crime for which society is responsible, the protagonist, the student Raskolnikov who became a murderer, is both a victim and a perpetrator.

5. War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy.
The work of the leading Russian author approaches, from a historical and philosophical point of view, the events of the 19th century - from 1805 to 1812 - which left their mark on both Russian and European history. At the heart of the events is Napoleon's invasion of Moscow.
