Trade unionists demanded the reunification of Cyprus, the economy and the labor market

A joint declaration for the reunification of Cyprus with the introduction of a single labor market was adopted today by the Cyprus Pan-Trade Union Forum, in which ten Greek Cypriot and eight Turkish Cypriot organizations participate.

The forum reaffirmed its long-standing commitment to the struggle for a just solution and the reunification of Cyprus, through the negotiation process.

The joint declaration states that the resolution of the Cyprus issue should ensure all the necessary conditions for the existence of a single economy and labor market, which will focus on strengthening the prosperity of all Cypriots.

The member organizations of the forum emphasize that the solution should contain a series of conditions, in order to ensure the smooth and orderly operation of labor relations and to adequately regulate the labor market.

Among the conditions set are the implementation of a single system of employment and employment, a single social security plan and a single wage and earnings system.

They also consider it necessary to fully respect the right to free movement, the right to associate and the choice of employment in any area of ​​Cyprus.
