The Minister of Education and Culture, Costas Kadis, paid a visit to schools in the free area of the Province of Famagusta, today, in the context of his established and regular visits to schools throughout Cyprus.
Specifically, the Minister visited the XNUMXth Public Kindergarten of Paralimni and the XNUMXth Public Primary School of Paralimni. According to an official announcement, these two schools bring together many foreign language students among their student population, which is why the Ministry has already implemented remedial teaching programs for Greek and supports the schools through their inclusion in the DRAS program. Ε. (School-Social Inclusion Actions).
"Through the discussion with all stakeholders, the positive results of the implementation of these programs and the need for their continuation were highlighted," it is reported.
It is added that special mention was also made of the successes and distinctions of the elementary school children in various competitions (Mathematics, Art, Music), in Pancyprian Track and Field Games while their high performance during their subsequent attendance in the High School cycle was pointed out.
The Minister then attended a meeting at Paralimni High School with all stakeholders (School Management, Paralimni Mayor, School Ephorate, Parents' Association, Technical Services of the Ministry of Education) where they discussed the issues of concern to the school, with the most important infrastructure and proper management of the large number of children with immigrant biographies.
The Minister presented a specific timetable for addressing the issues of upgrading the school infrastructure and discussed proposals for better management of foreign language students.
In all schools, the Minister stressed to students and teachers that the purpose of his visits is to receive the Ministry and he himself feedback from the base of our education system regarding the policies implemented by the EPA.
