Scientists in Britain have found after research that snoring during the day is associated with feelings of well-being, joy and happiness.
Sleep is generally believed to be beneficial to our health as it makes us more productive, active and shields us from cardiovascular disease.
However, a short sleep of up to 30 minutes during the duration was found to make us happier.
The research was conducted at the University of Hertfordshire to be presented at the Edinburgh International Science Festival. Professor and lead author of the research, Richard Wiseman, told the Independent: "Previous research has shown that a nap helps concentration, productivity and creativity.
Now it is believed that it can make us happier ". He notes that sleep during the day should be short, because otherwise the risk of various health problems increases.
The survey was conducted online with the participation of 1.000 people who received a questionnaire about sleep habits. 66% of respondents who take a nap every day were found to feel more balanced and happy. People between the ages of 18 and 30 sleep the most, while people over the age of 50 and over seem to get a "divorce" with sleep.
