His lawyer also demanded the participation of Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan in the Marmaris trial for the assassination attempt against him on July 15th during today's hearing, during which the accused pleaded guilty.

 Tayyip Erdogan's lawyer said his client wanted to join because he was a personal target.

During today's trial, the leader of the group that tried to assassinate the Turkish President said that he does not ask to be released and that he admits that he is guilty.

"I am waiting for the evidence, I am waiting to be tried as a prisoner," he said. He said, however, that he did not belong to the FETO (Gulen movement) and that even if he was asked to admit to being a FETO and released, he would rather be in prison for 90 years than admit to being a traitor.

 A group of 300 people gathered outside the courtroom, holding Turkish flags, a portrait of Tayyip Erdogan. They unfurled banners reading "Homeland is not divided, prayer is not silent", "No matter what happens, we will not stop running after you, Tayyip Erdogan", "We want the death penalty". They shouted “we want the death penalty holding a rope in their hands. Some did not try to attack the accused who were being taken to court but were stopped by police.
