Another special festival is organized this year by the Municipality of Sotiras for the promotion of its local product, which has been registered as a product with a Certified Designation of Origin since last August.
This year, the big name that has been announced is Melina Aslanidou, who together with excellent musicians will enrich the program musically with selections from her favorite songs. The 42nd Pancyprian Festival of Kolokasi® of the Municipality of Sotiras will take place on Saturday, September 9 at the Municipal Stadium of Sotiras and there visitors will have the opportunity to taste free traditional and alternative recipes based on kolokasi.
The Festival starts at 8 pm and admission is free.
This is one of the longest lasting festivals held in our country and aims to highlight and promote the local product of Sotira but also one of the most important local products that our country has to show.
Kolokasi Sotiras certified in the EU
The local product of Sotira has been registered in August 2016 as a product with a Certified Designation of Origin and is among the few certified products of our country in the EU. At the same time, in 2017, the certification of the brand name of the Pancyprian Kolokassi Festival® in the EU has been completed. with all the benefits that arise for the Municipality of Sotiras from the organization of the Festival.
