Students explore employment prospects at Hotel

The European University of Cyprus organized on Thursday, February 18, a conference aimed at expanding the employment prospects of students with executives in the hotel industry. The conference came to strengthen one of the most important strategic pillars of the European University of Cyprus, the connection of graduates with the labor market.

The conference aims to increase the employability of students in the hotel industry. The event was held in collaboration with the business world of the Hotel Industry and the Hotel, Tourism and Event Management program of the School of Business Administration of the European University of Cyprus. A necessary condition of the Hotel program is the placement of students in the hotel units of the place and generally in the hospitality industry, to gain experience, something that usually leads to permanent employment.

The meeting was attended by owners, general managers and executives of the following companies in the tourism industry: Hilton Hotel Cyprus- Nicosia, Crystal Springs Beach Hotel - Protaras, Tofinis Hotel - Ayia Napa, New Famagusta Hotel - Ayia Napa, Pavlo Napa - Ayia Napa, Hotel -Larnaca, Troodos Hotel- Troodos, Cheers Pub Restaurant- Protaras, Hippocampus Restaurant - Protaras.

Students had the opportunity to meet with them and discuss the available jobs and duties of a student trainee. These organizations presented their hotel units and referred to the current challenges facing the Cypriot tourism industry.
