A beautiful tribute to the strange custom of the hairdresser-moikana of the rescuers of Sotira just before they are classified is currently hosted by the City Free Press website.
According to the website, in the last few hours, a photo has been circulating en masse on the Cypriot internet where 8 children from Sotira (Famagusta) are "proposing" their a la rastafari mane with a background of a beach in Ayia Napa.
As mentioned in the tribute, the relationship of young people (and not only) in Kokkinochoria with reggae and especially with Bob Marley is known throughout Cyprus. Worship relationship!
So, the website continues, one can easily understand why the little ones in the short time after the end of school and just before they go to the army choose to "hang" the moikana on their head and "honor" even for a while, but with the best strong way, Rastafarianism, the religion of reggae and Bob Marley.
In fact, as mentioned, in order to achieve this impressive result, they use what we learn glue (rubber) that is normally used for any other occasion except to "set up" your hair… But it is of little importance in this case! Who will stick to such a detail?
The website also spoke with a local, where he was informed that this tradition lasts for years, since the 90s he remembers, he says, his fellow villagers to leave moikana for the period shortly before enlisting in the army and thus circulate for several days. It is possible, of course, to apply to other villages of the Famagusta district.
