He added that "in a time of recession and economic crisis, the execution of these projects will create new jobs when unemployment is one of the biggest problems facing the Republic of Cyprus today."

Asked about the issue of Famagusta General Hospital, which is reported to be understaffed, the President of EDEK, after saying that he does not want to be "excessive", noted that the Hospital is a modern nursing institution that has been created to meet the needs of the region. ”.
He explained that "it is not a metropolitan hospital like the Nicosia Hospital nor can it become a central hospital. However, this Hospital should really have all the necessary specialties, all the necessary nursing staff, all the necessary equipment to really serve the diseases that occur in the residents of the area ".
Of course, he continued "if these are very serious cases that can receive medical care only centrally, then the transfer of patients to central hospitals is justified.
