Mr. Omirou referred to the "sports hall" in an area where the number of active athletes exceeds 1,200, with teams in various sports that are either in the first category or in other categories, it does not matter much, because our goal must be mass sports and everyone's participation in sports activities. He also mentioned that there is a "permanent request" for the transfer of the administrative services of the province of Famagusta from Larnaca, to the free area of ​​Famagusta. The President of EDEK also noted that he will "properly raise" all these issues, to those centers of power which must make decisions soon in order for the region to overcome the current recession, to use its comparative advantages and to get on the road. growth and progress ”.

Asked about the issue of Famagusta General Hospital, which is reported to be understaffed, the President of EDEK, after saying that he does not want to be "excessive", noted that the Hospital is a modern nursing institution that has been created to meet the needs of the region. ”.

He explained that "it is not a metropolitan hospital like the Nicosia Hospital nor can it become a central hospital. However, this Hospital should really have all the necessary specialties, all the necessary nursing staff, all the necessary equipment to really serve the diseases that occur in the residents of the area ".

Of course, he continued "if these are very serious cases that can receive medical care only centrally, then the transfer of patients to central hospitals is justified. However, I agree that it should be a complete Nursing Institution and fulfill the role and the mission for which it has been created ", he concluded.
