According to the Police, around 06.15 yesterday morning, members of the MMAD poaching squad with members of the Environmental Organization Committee Against Bird Slaughtering (CABS) searched, with the written consent of the owner, a farmhouse in Avgorou, where a net was found in the kitchen. wild birds.

The 34-year-old owner of the farmhouse was taken to the Xylofagou Police Station, where he was charged in writing and released.

An hour later, around 07.15, members of the MMAD poaching unit with members of the Environmental Organization Committee Against Bird Slaughtering (CABS) investigated, with the written consent of the owner, an orchard in the rural area of ​​Avgoros, owned by a 47-year-old man from Xylos.

During the search, three wild bird trapping nets were found in a trash can outside the orchard farmhouse.

The 47-year-old was taken to the Xylofagou Police Station, where he was charged in writing and released.

Also around 08:15 members of the MMAD poaching squad with members of the Environmental Organization Committee Against Bird Slaughtering (CABS) located in an orchard in a rural area in Avgorou, two wild bird trapping nets, which were installed.

The members of MMAD managed to locate the 63-year-old owner, and with his consent, his orchard was searched, where 48 woodpeckers were also found.
