Mr. Pyrillis stressed that the Municipality has taken legal action against these companies, in order to recover the amounts due. He said the interior minister had sent a letter to him asking him to answer questions in order to clarify the situation. He added that the details would be sent to the Interior Ministry by Thursday morning. The letter had been communicated to both the Attorney General and the Auditor General, in order to intervene if deemed appropriate. Similar letters have been sent to other Municipalities to examine whether a similar issue is raised by the members of their Boards of Directors. The Mayor of Paralimni also denied that the said member of the Board of Directors and owner of the companies was attending the meetings of the Board of Directors that concerned his own family business. As she said, in those meetings, the member did not take part for reasons of conflict of interest.Source: TODAY
