Unpaid Footballers are vulnerable

Vulnerable footballers seem to be supporting the European research of FIFpro presented by PASP at the "Hilton" hotel. The results of the research showed that Cypriot footballers, especially in the current period, are not treated like other employees in terms of payment of their salaries and bonuses.

The survey for Cyprus was based on 315 responses from footballers who play mainly in the A 'category, but also in the B', DG and D 'categories. The most important results of the research were the following:

In the whole European survey, 41,4% of footballers were not paid on time, while 53% did not receive their bonuses.
In Cyprus, 77% of footballers did not receive their salary on time. Of this percentage, 74% is paid after 1-3 months, 21% after 3-6 months, 2% more than 6 months and 3% more than 1 year.

99% of payments are delayed because teams do not have the money to pay the players.

Only 25% of footballers pay their bonuses on the agreed dates.

Fifty-five percent of those surveyed in Europe who did not receive their pay on time said they approached to set up games.
