The survey for Cyprus was based on 315 responses from footballers who play mainly in the A 'category, but also in the B', DG and D 'categories. The most important results of the research were the following:
In the whole European survey, 41,4% of footballers were not paid on time, while 53% did not receive their bonuses.
In Cyprus, 77% of footballers did not receive their salary on time. Of this percentage, 74% is paid after 1-3 months, 21% after 3-6 months, 2% more than 6 months and 3% more than 1 year.
99% of payments are delayed because teams do not have the money to pay the players.
Only 25% of footballers pay their bonuses on the agreed dates.
Fifty-five percent of those surveyed in Europe who did not receive their pay on time said they approached to set up games.
