In two weeks, the details of the mammoth investment from Chinese businessmen, in collaboration with the Group of Cypriot businessman Nikos Siakolas, are expected to be officially announced. The investment in the area of the old Larnaca airport, which is managed by the Nikos Siakola Group as a strategic investor of the new airport, will concern the transport and trade sector, and is expected to create thousands of new jobs.
According to state television, Chinese businessmen will work with the Nikos Shakola Group to build a transit station for products from Asian countries, which will then be launched in European markets.
The transit center will operate in parallel with a shopping center. The Group's plans also include the creation of a hotel and casino on the site of the old Larnaca airport, always in collaboration with Chinese businessmen, and the relevant proposal has already been submitted for study to the relevant government departments.
At the same time, in Larnaca, the negotiations with the Cypriot-French consortium "Zenon" for the construction of another huge infrastructure project in the city, this time in the marina and the port, will be completed soon.
