I propose to the Municipal Authority to urgently examine the above issue for its immediate implementation. As a place of creation, I suggest the parking lot behind SPE Sotiras and especially on the sidewalk that borders the primary school.
It could be used, for example, up to 30 street vendors who are under the control of the Municipality with operating hours, say from 7:30 to 17:00 every Saturday with the right to pay € 10 to each interested party, so that the Municipality has at least incomes over € 10,000 per year, if it works properly and is under strict control, the benefits will be huge for our couriers because there they can make their purchases at controlled prices directly from the producer, with at least reduced prices by 30% -50%.
The crisis that we are going through and that will be very noticeable in the next 2 years and it is better to give a new choice to our courier to have fresh products at the best prices. On the other hand, if the Municipal Authority operates it on a proper basis, it will be an original event and will function as a tourist attraction for the development of our Municipality.
In my visits both in Greece and in other European countries, the first thing that is advertised is the open markets where you can find everything and it is also a pleasure like a walk, if it is put on the right basis and our liaison knows that every Saturday there will be find his vegetables etc. at reduced prices. We will definitely succeed and hope that in the next 5 years it will become a trademark. I can say a lot about the subject, but I live here.
I would very much like the Municipal Authority to examine it for implementation. It would be better for the first three months of operation to be free for the interested street vendors, ie free of charge and after three months to enter a professional base. It would also be nice to have a portion of the income that the Municipal Authority has to use to help proven needy families or students.
