Greece's cooperation with Israel continues unabated in the very important field of military cooperation. On Monday, the Defense Cooperation Program for 2017 was signed at GEETHA.
The renewal for the current year, of the cooperation was signed by the Director of the International Relations Directorate of GEETHA, Brigadier General Miltiadis Grylakis and the Head of the International Relations Unit of the Israeli Armed Forces, Brigadier General Erezay. What is certain is that the renewal of this cooperation raises even more concerns in whatever plans they make to the Turkish staffs.
The cooperation program includes actions related to participation in joint aeronautical exercises as well as joint trainings with attack helicopter units and special forces.
In the past years, this cooperation resulted in units of the famous Israeli Air Force being trained in very demanding scenarios in Greece, but the Greek Air Force also laid laurels in Israel when the Greek pilots showed that they know how to be team players and especially difficult opponents when required in joint exercises.
If nothing else, the Israeli citizens highly valued the skills of the Greek pilots when they showed self-sacrifice and professionalism in the firefighting operations that burned down in Israeli cities last year.
