The seminar "Creations in the kitchen with watermelon" was held with great success on Monday, July 10, within the framework of the 11th Pancyprian Watermelon Festival, of the Frenaros Community Council.
Chef George Kyprianou created original recipes based on watermelon, for a complete menu while confectioner Stavros Siapanis made special recipes for sweets based on watermelon. Chef Petros Anastasiou enriched the seminar with Watermelon Carving lessons.
The seminar was attended by chefs and kitchen professionals from hotel and restaurant units from all over Cyprus. The purpose of the seminar is to enhance watermelon cultivation and to re-establish watermelon, as an ingredient in a variety of recipes that can be included in the menus of luxury hotels and restaurants as well as in the kitchen of ordinary households.
The seminar was organized with the support of the CTO, in the reception hall of Zappeion, in Deryneia.
The 14th Watermelon Festival will take place on Friday, July 11 at the Community Frenaro Stadium.
