An event for road safety was held today in Sotira Square and in Agios Georgios Square in Paralimni, members of the Famagusta Police Directorate in collaboration with the Famagusta District Scout Ephorate during which they distributed "out of love". The Traffic Director of the Police Headquarters, Dimitris Dimitriou, also gave his presence at the event. 

According to the Spokesman of the Famagusta Police Department, Lieutenant George Oikonomou, "today members of the Police together with scouts will be in all Communities and Municipalities of the province of Famagusta where instead of issuing out-of-court for traffic violations they will be issued" extrajudicial " which will be accompanied by road safety lighting material ”.

Asked about the issue of crackers, Mr. Economou replied that at the moment the province of Famagusta "is quiet. We do not have an exacerbation in this issue and so far the Police have not identified any young people holding crackers or premises that illegally sell such items ".

Answering another question, the spokesman of the Famagusta Police Department said that “members of the Police have been patrolling in areas close to the ceasefire line for a long time and are continuing intensively in the last few days in order to prevent the firing of firecrackers from the occupied areas. free areas ”.
