Dervis Eroglou fierce attack from London

The claim that the goal of the President of Cyprus Dimitris Christofias is "only to take and not to give" was repeated by the Turkish Cypriot leader Dervis Eroglou from London where he is…

At the same time, he stated that Mr. Christofias asked him to return the villages located south of the Nicosia-Famagusta road, Morphou and its villages and the entire Karpasia peninsula.

Asked by the Turkish Cypriot press about the return of Varosia, Mr. Eroglu said that he agrees to discuss it in the context of confidence-building measures, but said that the Turkish Cypriots will also have some proposals such as lifting the so-called embargo and accepting it as legal of the port of Famagusta.

Asked about "plan b '" in case no agreement is reached on the Cyprus issue, Mr. Eroglou said that plan b' is the occupation regime.

He further stated that without the lifting of the so-called isolation of the Turkish Cypriots, there will be no solution to the problem, characterizing the "embargoes" as a violation of human rights.

The Greek Cypriot side, he argued, does not feel the need to settle the Cyprus issue as it benefits from what the EU has to offer, adding that the Turkish side did not handle the Greek Cypriots' "no" to the Annan Plan and criticized Mehmet Ali Talat who accepted the resumption of talks believing that a solution would be found.
