In this way, the Municipality of Sotiras and especially the Department of Culture, manages to achieve its goals, the full utilization of the Municipal Theater Sotiras as a central event space in the province of Famagusta, and the presentation in Sotira of important artistic organizations presenting quality programs.
It is worth noting that the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Sotiras has achieved since 2013 the implementation of cooperation with the Theatrical Organization of Cyprus, which has included the Municipal Theater Sotiras in the calendar of most of its performances, as the Main Stage of THOK in Famagusta, with presentation of more than 20 performances so far.
As their headquarters for the province of Famagusta, they consider the Municipal Theater Sotira and other cultural, artistic organizations and theatrical troupes resulting in the cultural upgrade of Sotira by hosting a large number of theatrical and musical performances, lectures, seminars, etc.

"Alice in Wonderland"
After the success of the concert series "Alice in Wonderland" in the last quarter of 2015, the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra Foundation continues this musical tale with the organic ensemble "Allegro Vivace", with concerts in all its provinces!
"Alice in Wonderland" is one of the most beloved fairy tales of young and old around the world. 2015 marks 150 years since Alice's story was first published in July 1865. For 150 years, Alice's adventures, translated into at least 97 languages, have traveled around the world, knowing many television and film adaptations, while inspiring opera and ballet.
The story was written in the middle of the 19th century. by the Englishman Lewis Carol and describes with fine imagination and childish spontaneity the adventures of a girl, Alice, who after falling into a burrow, wanders in an imaginary world where she lives many interesting and very strange stories!
This masterpiece is a fascinating play on fantasy, a dream tale. Alice defies the laws of gravity, finds drinks that make her short and eats cakes that elevate her! She meets hares that talk like humans, smiling cats, playing cards that parade in front of her with the King and Queen, she meets a rude hat, a griffin, a crying turtle and a caterpillar that gives advice.
The ensemble "Allegro Vivace", as its name implies, will offer the public the joy (Allegro) of Music, in an intense and lively way (Vivace), through a total of 6 Sunday concerts, under the direction of conductor Giannis Hatziloizou. The melodies from various Disney movies, as well as free adaptations of excerpts from works by great composers of classical music (Haydn, Beethoven, Schubert, Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, etc.) will be accompanied by the documentary narration of the fairy tale by the popular Cypriot actor Petros Giorkatzi as well as slide show.
The musical performance will stimulate in the most exciting and elegant way, the creative imagination of young and old, flooding the theater with vivid musical images, taken from the world of fairy tales.
An enjoyable musical performance for young and old "children" from 6 to 96 years old!
