Specifically, 68.345 positions will be offered in Greece compared to 70.305 last year. The category of foreigners / allogens accounts for 10% of the seats and therefore it is estimated that 6.834 will be available. Of these, 4.420 are for universities and ecclesiastical colleges, while the remaining 2.414 are for TEI.
It is important to note that compared to the previous year the decrease observed only concerns the positions of universities, which are estimated to be about 200 less in this category. On the contrary, there is a small increase in the number of places for TEI (by about 60).
Based on Athenian media, the reduction of places in central universities and in sought-after industries is expected to increase competition. Indicatively, they report that the number of students admitted to all Medical Schools except Athens, as well as to the Schools of Economics is decreasing. There is also a decrease in the Departments of Informatics, but also in the Law Schools in Athens and Thessaloniki.
The Cypriot candidates can submit their computerized forms to claim a position in Greece, until next Tuesday, July 21st. In statements to "F", the head of the Examination Service, Terpsa Konstantinidou, explained that it was decided to give an extension until the 21st of the month, in order to facilitate the male candidates, who are enlisted in the army.
Regarding the results, he said that as always, they are expected to be announced by the Greek Ministry at the end of August. It is recalled that in 2014 a total of 3.170 Cypriots knocked on the door of Greek institutions and 98% gained access.
