The Municipality of Ayia Napa strengthens this year's events of the Flood with two basic innovations, which will be held on Sunday and Monday, June 23-24 in the picturesque port of the city.

A written announcement of the Municipality of Ayia Napa states that "the goal of the Municipality is to further upgrade and enrich this traditional celebration. The first innovation concerns the inclusion in the events of the First Fish Festival. Ayia Napa as it is known was a small fishing village, where most of its inhabitants were engaged in fishing and used to hold a dance party with the theme of fish ".

Through the First Fish Festival "the Municipality aims at the revival of this dance party giving the visitor the opportunity to taste the various traditional recipes for cooking fish and other seafood and to have fun accompanied by music and song. The Festival will be held on both nights from 8.00 pm until late at night ".

According to the announcement, "the second innovation is the realization of the AD Water Festival, which will be held on Monday, June 24 from 10 in the morning until one at noon. From ancient times to the present day people and especially young people have a habit of flooding - that is, throwing each other in the water because they believed (at least in the past) that water protected the human body from various skin diseases such as scabies, scabies etc ».

The Municipality of Ayia Napa "decided to turn this habit into something more organized, giving everyone the opportunity to. they engage in a beautiful game of joy and fun by flying with all means such as buckets of water pistols etc. water to each other ".

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, there will be water jet ski competitions and demonstrations. On Monday, June 24, at 7:30 pm, the Dance Club of the Municipality of Ayia Napa will offer an interesting artistic program, followed by our folk poets with their chiattista and erotic songs.

The program of the second day will close the concert of Greek singers Giannis Vardis and George Lianos, who will present a three-hour entertainment program by well-known hits and other renowned creators and performers.
