The Minister of Education and Culture, Costas Kadis, expressed last night that despite the unfavorable economic circumstances, the Municipality of Ayia Napa puts culture high in its priorities, not wanting to reduce the cultural character and the high level of aesthetics of its planned events.

Welcoming him at the opening ceremony of the 31st Ayia Napa International Festival held in the square of the Medieval Monastery, the Minister of Education said that "through the actions of this important initiative, the Municipality of Ayia Napa improves the level of cultural life in the region. while at the same time upgrading the tourist product in the idyllic town ".

He added that "despite the unfavorable economic circumstances, the Municipality of Ayia Napa puts culture high on its priorities. For this reason, he did not want to reduce, neither quantitatively nor qualitatively, the cultural character and the high level of aesthetics of his planned events ".

As the Ministry of Education and Culture, Mr. Kadis continued "we welcome and applaud the participation in this year's organization of the Youth Symphony Orchestra. "As part of the Ayia Napa International Festival, children will be given the opportunity to collaborate with internationally renowned artists, such as tenor Marios Frangoulis and soprano Deborah Myers, which will be a unique and valuable experience for them."

At the same time, he expressed the "certainty that the public will respond with its presence to the planned events, in which the traditional and modern elements of Greek culture coexist harmoniously. In the program of this year's event, the activities present a rich theme, with the main point of reference our folk tradition but also the contemporary artistic creation ", that is, musical and artistic events, performances and exhibitions.
