A novel by Katerina Mavrommati

The "From dream to dream" is the first book by Katerina Mavrommati. It is based on a true story…

When her parents gave her a better life at the age of eight, they could not imagine what painful paths fate would lead her to and how much mother deprivation would mark her…

From the desert island of the Aegean, Sofia will be in bustling Athens, a cold February, in the mid-50s. An ax cuts her heart in half. Will she be able to escape the fate of the beaten maid and pursue her dreams?

What place will Manolis have in her life, who never wanted to live the great love next to her? Under the volume and violence of emotions he will stop sharpening dreams…?

She divides her life between highly contradictory roles: from lunch to art.
And then love… and everything in the heart of Wisdom participates in an innumerable charm. Kite her dreams, soar in the sky.

From Athens to Paris: debut in happiness. When the firework explodes, you do not count how short it lasted… A small war like a tarantula sided unexpectedly… Will the last act of the drama be the clearing of nationalities, the division of land, the exchange of populations?

Maybe in the end Sophia pays with the loneliness of survival, her own survival
loneliness?

...

The loneliness that lived in me, gave birth to turmoil and obsession. My life was surrounded by something ambiguous, something that was like an oracle that if you change the position of the colon, the opposite meaning comes out. I tried to impose myself to get on with what I was assigned, but a part of me inside, the biggest and the liveliest, dragged me to flee…

...

Something would cut my neon. If I lived here my heart would burn. My life would rot. I felt like a mangouf, as drowning as a black river…
I had heard that people are born free. Wasn't this little room, without a view, like a prison?
I would definitely organize my escape…

...

What a beautiful thing to have a dream, to throw the yeast on it and wait for it to swell!
The dream is never lost.
