A written announcement of the Municipality states that "a total of sixty times Mrs. Dagmar Ebner visited Ayia Napa for her holidays and the Mayor Giannis Karousos declared her" Ambassador of Tourism of Ayia Napa ".
The mayor, it is added, "offered Mrs. Ebner a commemorative plaque and a medal with the emblem of the Municipality of Ayia Napa".
A Norwegian couple, Watterud Pedersen and Kari-Anne Watterud, visited Ayia Napa 23 times and were also named "Tourism Ambassadors".
According to the announcement, Giannis Karousos "thanked both the couple and Mrs. Ebner for the love and preference they show in Ayia Napa with their frequent visits, emphasizing the importance of these visits".
