Solidarity will announce El Theocharous as President of the Movement today

The first Pancyprian political conference is organized today Sunday at the Hilton Hotel in Nicosia, at 10:45, by the Solidarity Movement. The conference will declare Eleni Theocharous president of the Movement without a rival.

Ms. Theocharous together with the MP of the Movement and Speaker of Parliament, Dimitris Syllouris, will be the main speakers. The presence and speech of both wants to send messages of unity for the Solidarity Movement.

In her speech, Eleni Theocharous will make a special reference to the Cyprus issue, also outlining the framework in which the Movement will move in the run-up to the presidential elections.

During the election conference, the members will be elected for the three-member electoral commission, which will be responsible for holding elections next Sunday, March 19.

In the second part of the conference, the candidates for the position of vice-president and the three vice-presidents will also give short speeches.

The ballot boxes will be set up next Sunday, March 19. Three candidates will eventually run for the post of vice-president. The current vice-president Polys Pallikaros, Konstantinos Kareklas. The candidacy of father Panagiotis Baroutis was withdrawn, as was that of Kyriakos Barris.

Regarding the three positions of vice-presidents, nominations were submitted by Ioannis Violaris, Greece Ioannou, Andrea Papapavlou, Costa Tsagaridis and Kostakis Christoforou.

The results will be announced on March 19, after the completion of the counting of votes in all provinces. Around 4.700 registered members of the Movement have the right to vote.

It is noted that the exercise of the right to vote can only be done by showing a political identity card, ballot paper or passport.
