A spokesman for Turkish Cypriot leader Baris Bourtziou said in a written statement that Mustafa Akinci believed the ban on religious worship at Easter in the occupied territories was wrong.
As reported by the occupied territories, referring to the decision of the "Ministry of Foreign Affairs" not to allow the service to take place on Good Friday in Agios Georgios Exorinos, in Famagusta, which has been held for the last three years and which, according to him, The local merchants were useful, Mr. Bourtziou pointed out that due to this ban the issue has been politicized "and some circles on the Greek Cypriot side took the opportunity and began to take advantage of it".
According to Mr. Bourtziou, the Turkish leader believes that this ban is wrong. The representative of the Turkish leader added that Mr. Akinci said the same to the "ruling" parties, on April 10, during a meeting he had with the leaders of political parties.
He also said that the negative consequences of this issue for the pseudo-state will continue and that Mr. Akinci believes that such unnecessary behavior "will put us in a difficult position."
