Criterion is the ability of the candidates for the Primary School

Voters are partisan in municipal elections.

Big, revealing newspaper poll "Today's»On electoral trends in Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, Paphos and Strovolos… Clear lead in Konstantinos Giorkatzis in Nicosia, Andrea Christou in Limassol and Shaw Sunshine in Strovolos gives, in view of the upcoming municipal elections of the 18th of the month, a large, revealing poll of "Today». On the contrary, based on the findings of the poll, the matches in Larnaca and Paphos are predicted to be ambiguous, where the lead of Andreas Louroutziati and Shaw Rod, versus Nikos Cleanthous and Misery Sarika, respectively, can not discount the final result from now on. Much more, due to the large number of voters in these two Municipalities, who state that they have not yet decided which candidate they will vote for.

In addition, with the exception of AKEL's rallies in Nicosia and Limassol, but also of DISY in Nicosia, in the other Municipalities the rallies of the parties are at relatively low levels for the time, while remarkable percentages of leaking party votes to candidates are recorded. are not supported by the specific political forces.

The "S" poll shows in a deafening way that for the electorate the upcoming electoral contest does not have the party tone that the parties are trying to give it. This is due to the fact that only 12% of voters say they will vote for a candidate for mayor based on the relevant decision of the party, which they say they voted in the last parliamentary elections. On the contrary, what is ranked by most as the primary criterion for the selection of the candidate, who will be voted, is his ability, while in the ranking of the criteria follows the experience of the candidate.
Of particular interest are also the findings regarding the degree of satisfaction of the citizens with the work of the five current mayors, as well as the opinion that the inhabitants of their cities have about them.

The investigation was conducted on behalf of "Today"And"Sigma», By the polling company LS Prime Market Research Consulting Ltd.

The highest turnout, based on the last parliamentary elections, is recorded by AKEL in Limassol, with an astonishing 90% supporting the party candidate. For DISY, the largest gathering is recorded in Nicosia (75%)

NICOSIA:
Konstantinos Giorkatzis maintains an IMPORTANT lead in the Municipality of Nicosia, against the current mayor Eleni Mavrou. Mr. Giorkatzis is ahead in the intention to vote with 15 percentage points against his rival, having as the largest pool of votes the "swimming pool" of DISY, from which he secures 50% of all his votes. For Eleni Mavrou, most of the total votes she secures come from AKEL, while as far as DIKO voters are concerned, they "go" to both Mr. Giorkatzis and Eleni Mavrou.

* Regarding the groupings of the parties in relation to the candidates they support (based on the last parliamentary elections), that of AKEL in Nicosia amounts to 80%, DISY to 75% and DIKO to 65%.

LIMASSOL:
ANDREAS Christou is the candidate who, according to the findings of the "S" poll, stands out as the big favorite to win the Limassol mayoralty again. He leads with a huge difference compared to the rival of Andreas Kyprianou, having in fact the main feature of his candidacy the multi-collection, since he draws votes from all party areas and is voted by a significant portion of DISY voters.

* Regarding the groupings of the parties in relation to the candidates they support (based on the last parliamentary elections), that of AKEL in Limassol amounts to an astonishing 90%, in contrast to that of DISY, which is only 47% . The rally of DIKO in Limassol, which supports the candidacy of Andreas Christos, is at 59%.

LARNACA:
IN the Municipality of Larnaca, despite the lead that Andreas Louroutziatis currently maintains over Nikos Cleanthous, the race for mayor seems to be open and to be ambiguous. This fact is reinforced by the large percentage of voters who have not yet reached their choice and will, in all probability, be the ones who will become the regulators of the final result.

At the moment their percentage is 36%. Also, the DIKO group is at very low levels.
The main source of votes for Mr. Louroutziatis is the DISY tank, while the finding regarding the tank from which Nikos Cleanthous draws his votes is extremely interesting. Although he is running as a candidate from DIKO, supported by AKEL, of all his votes, almost 60% comes from the Left party and only 13% from DIKO.

* Regarding the gatherings of the parties in relation to the candidates they support (based on the last parliamentary elections), that of AKEL in Larnaca amounts to 61%, that of DISY to 65%. The DIKO rally in Larnaca is at an extremely low 25%.

PAPHOS:
GREAT battle, according to the poll, seems to be between Savvas Vergas and Pheidias Sarikas for the Paphos town hall. As in the case of Larnaca, there is a significant percentage who have not yet decided who they will vote for (24%), with Mr. Vergas currently maintaining a lead of five percentage points. Most of Mr. Vergas' votes come from AKEL, despite the fact that he is running as a DIKO candidate. The votes of this party on the total votes of Mr. Vergas constitute 25%, while a 13% comes from DISY and an 11% from EDEK. Regarding Pheidias Sarikas, 32% of the votes he secures come from DISY, 22% from EDEK, 8% from DIKO and 11% from AKEL.

* Regarding the groupings of the parties in relation to the candidates they support (based on the last parliamentary elections), that of AKEL in Paphos is at 52%, DISY at 44% and DIKO at 42%.

STROVOLOS:
In the race for the mayor of Strovolos, the poll of "S" gives a clear lead to the current mayor Savvas Iliofotou, who collects 36% against 25% of Lazaros Savvidis. At the same time, 24% of the electorate are among the undecided.

Mr. Iliofotou gets most of his votes from AKEL, DIKO and EDEK (his candidacy is supported by all three parties), while he also receives votes from a significant portion of DISY voters.

On the other hand, Lazaros Savvidis is voted mostly by DISY voters, as well as by those of the European Party.

* Regarding the groupings of the parties in relation to the candidates they support (based on the last parliamentary elections), that of AKEL in Strovolos is at 47%, DISY at 48% and DIKO at 53%.
