In most Orthodox churches, the procession of the Epitaph takes place in the courtyard of the Churches. In Sotira Famagusta, however, the procession of the Epitaph is one of the few in the whole of Cyprus, which is performed in the whole Municipality.
Every Good Friday, the procession of the Epitaph starts from the Church of the Resurrection and ends at the Holy Temple of the Transfiguration, while the reading of the Holy Gospel takes place in the Square of the Savior. The catechism band and the Sotiras Municipal Choir participate in the procession.
