The defendant in the case, Petros Filippidis, recently made very serious remarks about Spyros Bibilas, who has been testifying at his trial at the Court of Appeals since this morning for the two attempted rapes.
In particular, the actor, upon taking the floor, stood up from the "stool" and briefly told the court that during Spyros Bibilas' term as president of the SEI, there was a complaint of abuse of a minor but it was shelved. The accused actor also stated that there was a complaint against Spyros Bibilas himself, but that there was no development regarding this either, as he implied.
The actor strongly denied Petros Filippidis's claims, saying, among other things, that he has been touching people "since he was 50 and now he is 70."
The following dialogues took place in court:
Filippidis: Did you have a complaint about a minor that you dismissed because he is your friend?
Bibilas: I don't know, I don't know what complaint you're talking about.
Philippides: For a minor…
Bibilas: I don't know who you're talking about, I didn't file any complaint, I don't know what you're talking about. For Lignadis, there was...
Philippides: No, I'm not talking about that. It was there for you too...
Bibilas: For me? Are you okay? I'll laugh... You should have apologized...
Philippides: Should I apologize? Why? Are you okay?
Bibilas: Let's go outside and talk...
Philippides: Let's meet here. I'm fighting for my life here...
Bibilas: Why am I here for fun?
Philippides: Yes, you're kidding. I will fight for my life with truth and honesty. I will fight until the last drop. I will die, but I will die at the right time.
In fact, at this point, Petros Filippidis, addressing a defense attorney in support of the accusation, told him: "Sir, don't mock a man who has been in prison and is fighting for his life and the truth."
The defendant's dialogue with the witness then continued:
Bibilas: Is it possible to hear here that there was a complaint against me? And aren't you ashamed to say it?
Philippides: No.
President: The accused should go outside….
At this point, Petros Filippidis briefly left the courtroom with his lawyers protesting and asking the court to allow him to return to the courtroom.
A little later, Petros Filippidis – after returning to the courtroom – again asked for the floor to ask the witness new questions, which concerned specific individuals about whom there had been complaints to the SEI.
Indicatively, the following dialogues took place in the audience:
Filippidis: You mentioned Mr. (…) had a complaint?
Bibilas: He had a complaint from one of his students, which was deleted...
Philippides: Why?
Bibilas: Because it was deemed unfounded, the disciplinary committee was responsible...
Filippidis: Did Mr. (…) have a complaint?
Bibilas: I don't know, ask the disciplinary committee...
Philippides: Did you have a complaint?
Bibilas: How can I file a complaint that I have been touching a person since I was 50 and now I'm 70...
Philippides: Have I given money to actors?
Bibilas: Of course…
Philippides: Have I ever been an employer?
Bibilas: Did I say employer? I said you disagreed when we asked for the actors' labor rights.
Philippides: Do you remember the "Inspector" who came down? What did the employer say then?
Bibilas: Actors' salaries should be lowered, etc. so that it doesn't go down... (continues)...
Filippidis: You talk a lot, you're probably used to it from the channels...
Bibilas: Do labor matters have anything to do with this?
Philippides: It has to do with the power that the witnesses claim I had...
President: What are these? What you are asking the witness is irrelevant...
Philippides: Why are you in a hurry, Madam President?
President: Because what you are asking is irrelevant to the case.
Earlier, however, in response to questions from the defense, Sp. Bibilas had stated, among other things: "I am not in a good situation because they called me as a witness without asking me (Filippidis' side). I think they called me to justify the unjustified. (…). I have had many conversations with my wife Filippidis, about her sadness and I supported her. I don't want to embarrass Petros, he embarrassed himself...".
