"We have decided to move forward with something difficult but necessary: to ban access to social media for children under 15 years of age," says the prime minister.

The regulation will come in the summer of 2026 and come into effect on January 1, 2027, the Prime Minister said in the video he posted on social media.

"Greece is among the first to take such an initiative, but it will not be the last," he said, adding that the goal is to pressure the EU as well.

In a few years we will see it as something positive or self-evident, concludes Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
