"Threats against the sovereignty and status of a member state of the European Union are absolutely unacceptable", Greek diplomatic sources say, commenting on recent threats against the Republic of Cyprus by the Turkish Foreign Minister.

At the same time, they note that Greece, like all the member states of the European Union, stands in solidarity with Cyprus.

"Greece does not accept suggestions on the way in which it conducts its policy and ensures its national interests. During the crisis in the Middle East, Greece has maintained a position of principle, which is appreciated by all parties involved and for this reason it keeps all communication channels open, without having broken with any country", conclude the same sources.

It is recalled that Hakan Fidan said yesterday that Cyprus has turned into a center of operations and is used as a base by some countries in operations against Gaza.
