Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis launched a harsh attack on the opposition parties, for what they accuse the Government of for the Tempi accident, from the podium of Parliament.
The Greek Prime Minister argued that we must "oppose the easy impressions that inflate division and we owe this to the relatives of the 57 victims. They do not deserve to become a cog in a sad attempt to instrumentalize a moment that shocked all of Greece. Today we are experiencing a common mourning that certain circles are trying to turn into division."
Regarding the massive rallies last Friday, Mr. Mitsotakis said that citizens demanded “truth and justice” as well as safe transportation. “There were protesters who called for the fall of the Government. But I believe that the vast majority made the opposite request, for Greece to rise higher. That’s what I heard,” he added.
Speaking about the EDOSAAM report, he said that the conclusions show that human errors in combination with the chronic pathologies of the railway in our country are responsible for the accident, but also that it showed that there was no government mandate at the scene of the accident, but on the contrary, government officials were there in an observer role.
"This is the first time I've seen a motion of no confidence being circulated without it having been officially tabled. I imagine you will manage to come to an agreement to finally prove that you are all in this together, Mr. Androulakis. Join your friends on the left, table it so we can talk about everything," he then said about the motion of no confidence that will be tabled by PASOK, SYRIZA, New Left and Pleusi Eleftherias.
