The guilt of the two young defendants in the Topaloudi case, as they are accused, was decided by the Mixed Jury Court of Appeal of Athens. Judges and jurors unanimously made their decision, at the hearing of which the father of the undefeated student burst into tears.

The court, adopting the prosecutor's previous proposal, in essence followed the first instance court's decision, according to which both the accused of Albanian origin and Roditis were convicted of the crimes of premeditated murder and gang rape against her. young student in 2018 in Rhodes.

Magda Fyssa and Syriza MP N. Voutsis were found in court as a sign of support for the student's parents. MERA25 MP Kriton Arsenis was also present in the courtroom.

Among other things, the prosecutor in her speech had stated: "The homicide was committed by both defendants in order to silence the girl. If someone did not want to, they would call for help. "All their subsequent actions prove that everything was done together, with a plan and with deceit."

According to the prosecutor's proposal, there was no consent on the part of the victim in an affair with the accused. "If Eleni had consented to this whole scene, she would still be alive, everything would have ended calmly and nicely. When they saw that she reacted, they used violence and forced her into intercourse. In complete sobriety they decided to exterminate her. "She was beaten, tortured, thrown into the sea alive to disappear," the prosecutor said.

It is recalled that the two defendants during their apologies at the trial blamed each other for the heinous crime. In the first instance, they were sentenced to life in prison for the murder of the girl and to 15 years in prison each for raping her.

Finally, today the court rejected the independent allegations of the accused, while the defense is currently asking for the recognition of the mitigating factors.
