A double earthquake measuring 4,8 and 4,1 on the Richter scale occurred in Crete on Wednesday morning, specifically south of the sea area of Heraklion.
The double earthquake had a small focal depth and therefore was felt throughout the island.
According to the Geodynamic Institute of the Athens Observatory, the second (in chronological order) earthquake was 4,8 Richter and the epicenter was located in the marine area south of the prefecture of Heraklion.
Just one minute earlier, a 4,1-magnitude earthquake had occurred with the same focal depth.
