Who was Kostas Kazakos?

Ο Kostas Kazakos was born in Pyrgos Ilias in May 1935 and was a graduate of the Lykourgos Stavrakos Film School (specifically the Department of Actors and Directors) as well as the Karolos Koun Drama School.

In 1973, he was awarded the First Gold Award of the Thessaloniki Film Festival for the best production, the adaptation of Lysistrata. He was vice-president of the Hellenic Center of the International Theater Institute.

He was a founding member of the Hellenic Arab Association and a member of the Actor's Licensing Committee, co-founder of the Free Theater (together with Leota Trivizas) and founder of the "Jeni Karezi" foundation.

At the age of 18, he settled in Athens to study pedagogy, however his father's left-wing heritage became a reason for his negative treatment by the university. They asked him for a social studies paper and because he didn't have it, they didn't allow him to enroll in the school. Thus, he changed careers and studied at the Lykourgos Stavrakos Film School (1953-1956) and the Karolos Koun Drama School (1954-1957).

He was vice-president of the Hellenic Center of the International Theater Institute, general secretary of the Panhellenic Union of Free Theater and President of the Panhellenic Cultural Movement. Founding member of the Hellenic-Arab Association and member of the Licensing Committee for the Profession of Actor. He was honored with the "Golden Apollo", actor award of the Athens Film Critics Association in 1967, and the 1973st Gold Award of the Thessaloniki Film Festival in XNUMX for the best theatrical production ("Lysistrata"). He was also honored with the Award of the Union of Theater Writers and Critics for the entirety of his offer.

In the elections of September 2007 and October 2009, he was elected MP with the KKE, as head of the State ballot. From 1968 to 1992 he was married to the actress Jenny Karezi, with whom he had their son, also an actor Konstantinos Kazako (born 1969). Since 1997 he was married to the actress Jenny Kollia, with whom he had four children: Alexander (born 1997), Artemi-Georgia (born 1998), Electra (born 2002) and Maya (born 2008 ). Artemis-Georgia died on June 25, 1999, aged 8 months and one week after her baptism, suffering from a rare disease.
