Babis Anagnostopoulos unanimously in the chair for the murder of Caroline.
The way was opened for the referral of Babis Anagnostopoulos to the Mixed Jury Court of Athens in order to be tried for the brutal murder of his wife and mother of his child Caroline Krauts.
Specifically, with a panel issued today by the Athens Council for Criminal Procedure, the 33-year-old pre-trial pilot is referred to trial for two crimes, manslaughter committed in a calm state of mind and animal abuse and for two misdemeanors, he was falsely accused and false deposit continuously.
The judges - members of the judicial council unanimously adopted the proposal - "catapult" that was submitted last November by the prosecutor George Noulis. In his 24-page proposal, the prosecutor's office had described frame by frame the scene of the savage crime set up by the accused in the Glyna Nero maisonette.
According to the prosecutor's proposal, the accused was manipulating and controlling the unfortunate Caroline, to the point of allowing her to use a taxi for her travels that belonged to a friend of his.
In his proposal, the prosecutor, referring to the testimony of a mental health counselor who visited the couple, states that the young woman "experienced as an inclusion her relationship with the accused" and that she was "occupied in view of their age difference from" dependence syndrome "by the pre-trial pilot "(acceptance of the person but rejection of his person)".
Then, Mr. Noulis had referred to the night that the violent crime took place (on 11-05-2021 and shortly after 00:00). As the prosecutor underlined, the initial reason for what followed was the verbal confrontation that the couple had regarding the custody of their child. Typically, the prosecutor states: "After the specific heated quarrel of the couple, the accused decided to carry out a plan of extermination of his wife, which he had been cultivating in his mind for a long time, in order to get rid of her presence and be left alone with their child. His plan consisted of two parts, on the one hand the murder of Krauts, and on the other hand the appearance of her death as a product of the criminal act of third unknown perpetrators in order to avoid his own criminal liability. And while the baby was sleeping in the living room of the house and Krauts in the bedroom upstairs, the accused proceeded, using hand gloves, in a series of actions in order to create a virtual scene of "robbery after murder" in the house.
Specifically:
a) violently detached a surveillance camera from the living room, which was mounted (screwed) on its roof, so as not to record the movements in support of the inspired scenario,
b) proceeded to the removal and destruction of the memory card of the specific device in order to disappear the optical material recorded in it.
c) He dismantled the window of the basement of the maisonette, which he then hid in the laundry room, in order to create an "entrance gate" for the "unknown robbers" in the house.
d) brought to selected areas of the maisonette (living room) an artificial image of clutter, in order to display a naughty image of their research (indicatively, library disturbance, throwing on the floor of a plastic box of the monopoly board game) and removed from the living room space (wedding rings, rings) which he hid in a plastic bag in the tank of his motorcycle, in order to present them as "prey of the influential robbers".
"Absolutely cool"
Regarding the pre-trial detainee, in his proposal, Mr. Noulias stated that: his wife. Absolutely cool, he surprised the victim, who was sleeping in a prone position (muzzle), which he immobilized with his superior body weight.
With the force of his hands he pressed Krouch's head strongly towards the pillow, resulting in the blockage of the outer openings of her airways (mouth and nostrils). This caused a gradual difficulty in her breathing, she narrowly tried to react, but this was not possible. This attempt of the accused to exterminate his wife lasted for five minutes and finally the victim ended up due to suffocation around 4:11. "This is because during the murder of two people in intense physical and mental stress, with his death being not instantaneous but anxious".
