Greece: 11-year-old accidentally shot his 9-year-old sister

An incredible incident happened on Sunday night in a village near Derveni, Corinthia, when an 11-year-old boy shot his 9-year-old sister over the toy.

The 9-year-old was initially transported to the Akrata health center and then urgently to the Karamandane Children's Hospital of Patras, where she is being treated with a very serious injury to her hand.

The incident happened at 7.30 pm on Sunday in a field near Derveni, where the children were under the supervision of their grandmother.

Their father, who also has custody of them, had left them there.

According to information from tempo24.news, at some point and while the children were playing, the 11-year-old boy took a shotgun that was in the field (probably in a warehouse) and which, according to the first information, belongs to his grandfather, as a result of which he shoot, apparently unintentionally and the little girl is seriously injured in the arm.

From the moment the incident became known, both the Police and the local health authorities were immediately mobilized.

The 9-year-old girl is hospitalized in Karamandanio, with a very serious injury to her hand.

The father of the two children was arrested for neglect of minors, but on the order of the prosecutor he was released.
