A tragic incident occurred in the area of Edessa, in the early hours of Sunday, with the victim being a 17-year-old schoolgirl who was brutally beaten in the middle of the street by her 33-year-old partner when she asked him to divorce her.
The 33-year-old man, according to what the minor girl cried while crying to the police authorities, had set up a carter outside her house. As the girl was returning home and trying to put the keys in the door, the 33-year-old, while he was hiding, jumped in front of her and started hitting her.. After grabbing her by the hair, he started dragging her on the street while at the same time hitting her to the point where he had parked his car. He wanted, as the girl told the police, to take her by force with him.
The 17-year-old student was crying and asking for help while her legs were bleeding from the wounds caused as the 33-year-old dragged her on the street by her hair. Then, he put her in his car and after wiping the blood from her arms and legs , threatened her that if she opened her mouth he would do worse things to her. His girlfriend shouted that she would report him to the police while he told her: "Dare and you will see if you will catch up" while he continued to hit her in the car.
The girl managed to escape from the hands of the perpetrator and arrived at her house in fear. Her mother, shocked by the image of her daughter, terrified called the police. The 33-year-old perpetrator is wanted by the police while the family has already filed a lawsuit.
The family's lawyer, Antonis Xylourgidis, speaks of an extreme incident of violence.
"The health of the 17-year-old girl is paramount at the moment, a lawsuit has already been filed with the local police department of the area and the perpetrator is wanted as he has disappeared. "Unfortunately, we observe that the phenomena of violence against women increase dramatically, even with the victims being underage girls, despite the tightening of the legal framework, a fact which apparently does not deter would-be abusers," Antonis Xylourgidis told protothema.gr.
